The Nadowli-Kaleo District Assembly, led by the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Mary Haruna, and Hon. Sumah M. Anthony, has commissioned several projects aimed at strengthening education and healthcare delivery, with additional initiatives currently at advanced stages, awaiting handover to the beneficiary communities for sustained use.
On Thursday, 14 May 2026, the DCE for Nadowli-Kaleo, in collaboration with the Member of Parliament for the constituency, Hon. Anthony M. Sumah, commissioned and handed over a newly constructed Community Health Planning and Services (CHPS) facility and a three-unit classroom block for the Chaang community. These interventions are designed to enhance access to quality healthcare and improve educational outcomes for residents within the community and across the district.
In addition, a kindergarten block formed part of the same commissioning package for the people of Nadowli township. The facility is expected to bolster early childhood education at the foundation level across the district’s various communities. Addressing the gathering, the DCE reiterated her consistent call for community members to assume ownership of the facilities to ensure proper maintenance and long-term sustainability. She further emphasized that the Assembly remains steadfast in its commitment to the equitable distribution of resources and the continuous improvement of the livelihoods of the people of the Nadowli-Kaleo District.
These projects are implemented in line with the government’s development agenda to expand the Assemblies’ Common Fund allocations for infrastructure and socioeconomic advancement, thereby creating meaningful opportunities and better living standards for citizens.
