On Sunday, November 8, 2026, the Director of Special Operations at National Security, Mr. Richard A. Jakpa, honorably redeemed his pledge by donating 100 chairs to each of the four paramountcies within the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa (DBI) District of the Upper West Region. These esteemed paramountcies include Daffiama, Bussie, Issa, and Kojokperi.
This generous donation, totaling 400 chairs, comes in response to an earnest appeal made by the district’s Chiefs for support to elevate the activities held at their palaces; an appeal that was initially voiced by the chiefs during the sod-cutting ceremony for a STEM school project in the district capital of Issa several months ago.
Mr. Jakpa, having made this solemn pledge during a recent engagement with the traditional authorities, graciously fulfilled his word by formally presenting the chairs to the paramountcies.
The Chiefs, receiving the chairs with great enthusiasm, expressed their profound gratitude to Mr. Jakpa for his benevolent gesture and for steadfastly honoring his promise.
They emphasized that the chairs will go a long way in supporting traditional and community engagements within their respective paramountcies, while also appealing for continued support of this nature in the future.
In response, Mr. Jakpa reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to advancing the district’s development and fortifying the esteemed institution of chieftaincy within the area.
