The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Pius Enam Hadzide has conceded that work schedule at the Wa Multipurpose Youth Resource Center has been delayed due to structural changes.
Pius Enam made this known in an interview with Wa-based Radio Station, Home Radio on Monday, July 25, 2022.
“We agree the project has been delayed, and we apologise to the people of the Region as we work to complete the project before the end of this year.”
“We were hit by shocks of Covid-19 and that delayed the project as well. But we are on course and we will soon finish the Wa project.” The NYA CEO assured.
He however commended the Contractor of the project for the work done so far saying “the contractor on the Wa Project has done good, work is far advanced and he must be commended.”
The Wa Multipurpose Youth Resource Center was expected to be completed within 9 months after the sod-cutting in May 2018.
However, the project is yet to be completed 4 years after the sod cutting. Many residents are becoming impatient with the delays in the project and have urged the Regional Minister to ensure the completion of the project.
Mr Enam Hadzide who visited the facility said his visit to the facility was at the express request of the Upper West Regional Minister, Dr Hafiz Bin Salih.
