Wa Central: Kpongu electoral area coordinator debunks Hajia Umu assault claims
The Electoral Area coordinator for the New Patriotic Party(NPP) within Kpongu Electoral Area in the Wa Central Constituency, Abdul-Lamin A.Liman has disputed claims of assault on Hajia Umu Awudu who is the 2020 Parliamentary Candidate of the NPP in the Constituency.
The former Parliamentary Candidate was reported to have been assaulted by a gang of macho men within the Kpongu Electoral Area on Wednesday afternoon, when she went round to monitor the ongoing polling station executive election exercise.
This report according to the Kpongu Electoral Area Coordinator, Abdul-Lamin A.Liman is untrue.
He made the revelation in an interview on Home Radio Socio- political Program Tegyaayala Thursday, 24th February 2022.
He said ” I challenge any person who said Hajjia Umu was attacked in Kpongu to produce evidence to that effect, these stories are untrue and I find it difficult to understand the motive behind these lies”.
He added that the story is bringing a bad name to his electoral area which makes him uncomfortable.
Abdul-Lamin A.Liman however, said there was a bit of misunderstanding between some party members, but the parliamentary candidate was not involved.
