Adamu Sayibu was officially confirmed as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Wa East District in the Upper West Region, following a decisive vote by the District Assembly.
The confirmation, held in accordance with Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016, saw 28 assembly members vote in favor of Sayibu’s nomination, with 8 voting against.
President John Dramani Mahama had earlier re-nominated Sayibu for the role, a move that has been met with optimism by local stakeholders eager for continued development in the district. Sayibu, known for his commitment to grassroots governance, is expected to prioritize infrastructure, agriculture, and youth empowerment in his tenure.
The confirmation marks a significant step in strengthening local governance in Wa East, with residents hopeful for transformative leadership under Sayibu’s administration.
