The Minister of State in charge of Special Initiatives urges businesses to invest in skills development, innovation and opportunities for young people at The Capital Group Ltd.’s 30th anniversary celebration.
The Minister of State in charge of Special Initiatives, Hon. Dr. Abdul-Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, has called for stronger collaboration between government and the private sector to accelerate Ghana’s economic growth, expand employment opportunities and strengthen workforce development.

Delivering the keynote address at the 30th anniversary celebration of The Capital Group Ltd., held under the theme “30 Years: A Journey of Service and Partnership,” Dr. Pelpuo emphasised that achieving Ghana’s development aspirations requires shared responsibility, sustained cooperation and partnerships that translate into tangible benefits for citizens.
He noted that the private sector remains an important partner in national development, particularly through its capacity to create jobs, develop professional skills, promote innovation and support the growth of competitive industries. He therefore encouraged businesses to work closely with government to address development challenges and create sustainable opportunities for Ghanaians.

Dr. Pelpuo commended the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Capital Group Ltd., Mr. Samuel L. Adetola, together with the Board, management and staff, for three decades of service and contribution to human resource development, professional training and organisational growth.
He observed that the company’s 30-year journey reflected the importance of institutional continuity, professional expertise and partnerships in building organisations capable of responding to changing economic and workforce demands.
The Minister further highlighted the transformative effects of technological advancement and artificial intelligence on the world of work. He stressed that Ghana must prioritise skills development, innovation and continuous professional learning to prepare its workforce for emerging opportunities and maintain competitiveness in an increasingly technology-driven global economy.
Against this backdrop, he encouraged The Capital Group Ltd. to consolidate its achievements by embracing innovation, deepening strategic partnerships and expanding initiatives that equip young people with relevant skills for employment and entrepreneurship.

He underscored the need for stronger links between professional training and the evolving demands of the labour market, noting that closer cooperation between public institutions and private organisations can help ensure that skills development initiatives respond to practical economic needs.
Dr. Pelpuo also reaffirmed his commitment to advancing strategic partnerships under the Government’s Special Initiatives agenda. He emphasised that collaboration must extend beyond expressions of goodwill to deliver practical interventions that improve livelihoods, strengthen human capacity and contribute to inclusive national development.
He called on businesses and other stakeholders to sustain their commitment to partnerships that promote innovation, expand opportunities and support Ghana’s long-term development priorities.
The Minister congratulated The Capital Group Ltd. on attaining the milestone and officially declared the company’s 30th anniversary celebration open.
The anniversary marks three decades of the company’s operations and provides an opportunity to reflect on its contribution to professional development while renewing its commitment to service, innovation and partnership in Ghana’s evolving economic landscape.
