A renowned contractor and native of Wa, Alhaj Alhassan Uthman Gbangu, has donated GHc 11,000 to T.I Ahmaddiya Muslim Primary Girls School to support the construction of a urinal for the pupils. The donation was made on his behalf by a team led by the Wa Central NDC Constituency Youth Organizer and Upper West Regional Coordinator for the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Mr. Abdulai Ibrahim.
In a short speech before handing over the money, Mr. Ibrahim revealed that Alhaj Gbangu had been informed about the construction of the urinals through a written note from the Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) executives soliciting support. As a philanthropist and native son, Alhaj Gbangu has come to fully support the project for the school. He emphasized the importance of supporting the school management to construct such a vital facility for the pupils, particularly given the school’s unique status as an all-girls Islamic institution.
Mr. Abdulai Ibrahim, who led the team, pledged to personally monitor the project to its completion, ensuring that the facility is used by the pupils. The school management, led by PTA Chairman Mr. Rasta Sungumo and Headmistress Mad. Cynthia Kwabla, welcomed the donation on behalf of the pupils and expressed their profound gratitude to Alhaj Gbangu for his commitment to supporting the school. They noted that this kind of gesture demonstrates his dedication to building a better future for children, particularly the girl child, in the Wa Municipality and the region as a whole.
The donation is a testament to Alhaj Gbangu’s commitment to giving back to his community and supporting the education of young girls. The school’s management has promised to utilize the funds effectively to ensure the successful completion of the project.
